1.Basic structure of Conveyor Chain
Conveyor Chain is used widely in all Industry in various type and size.
Conveyor chain can be classified to standard, Lightly Heavy and Heavy series according to tensile strength of chain. They have also various shape and type of attachment. The material of conveyor chain can be different considering chain life and applying to suitable condition.
  
2. Conveyor type by roller
2-1. R-Roller type
The outer diameter of roller is larger than the height of link plate. The R-roller type of conveyor chain is mainly used for Slat and Flight Conveyor etc.
2-2.F-Roller
F-roller has Flange to prevent snaking. The F-roller type of chain is mainly used for Slat, Slant Bucket and Pan Conveyor Systems to convey heavy & bulk objects.
2-3. S, M, N-Roller
The outer diameter of roller is smaller than height of link plate. This type of chain is mainly used at Bucket Elevator & Flow Conveyor Systems.
2-4. B- Type (Bushed Type)
The B-Type chain operates by interaction of Sprocket and Bush without roller.
This type of chain is mainly used for Pusher and Trolley Conveyor System.
3. Standard Attachment
A indicates bend attachment, one side and horizontal type

- A-1 : indicates one hole on attachment

- K indicates bend attachment, both side and horizontal type

4-2. Determination of chain pitch
A conveyor chain size is tentatively determined by type of conveyor -such as Slat, Trolley, Bucket, and Apron Conveyor chain - , nature of material conveyed, conveying speed and conveying devices. But the chain pitch restricted by revolutions of sprockets and no. of teeth in sprockets as shown below.
The selection of a shorter pitch within a allowable limit is effective in long service life and absorbing impact.

4-4. Application Factor
The obtained chain tension from formulas of table 1 should be adjusted by operating and conveying condition. The Safety Rate should be guaranteed by adjusting Application Factor [Table 2] and Chain Speed [Table3]

4-5. Determination of Chain Size
Please select suitable chain model from Dong Bo's Catalogue satisfying the following formula along with chain tension and application factor.
The information of tensile Strength is not complete condition, so please consult Dong Bo(DBC) to select suitable chain model on the following condition.
- Heavy load and Conveying System at Short distance.
- The direct tangency between abrasive, Corrosive materials and conveyor chain.
- Using Chain at High temperature and moisture environment.
4-6. Selecting Roller
a. Selecting suitable roller out of three type of Roller (S, R, F type)
b. R, F type of roller is normally suitable to vertical conveyor
c. S type is useful to the following condition.
- Conveying a light load of material
- A short length of Conveyor Distance
- Long Life is not necessary

4-8. Additional Considering Point for Selection Conveyor Chain
- Type of conveyed objects such as dust, abrasive and corrosive materials effects chain life and operation heavily.
- The conveyor should be designed at conveying maximum volume not average one
- Conveyor Speed (Chain Speed) : The High speed of conveyor causes vibration, impact and makes chain life shortened. The short pitch of chain is more useful to conveying material at high speed.
